This is an extremely rare Type A Modified ‘Papa’ Nambu. The first pattern of Nambu was named the Type A. It was designed in 1902 by General Kijiro Nambu. There were two variants of Type A Nambus. The original Nambu Type A’s are commonly referred to as Grandpa Nambus with the Type A Modified known as Papa Nambus. Only around 2400 Type A ‘Grandpa’ Nambus and approximately 7000 Papa Nambus were produced until production ceased in 1923. This example is one of the 7000 produced between 1906 and 1923. An extremely scarce pistol. Complete with deactivation certificate.
